Call for Book Proposals

We are proud to announce our new international book series entitled Neighborhoods, Communities and Urban Marginality. We invite proposals on original research which examines urban marginality and social inequality in neighborhoods and communities across the globe.

We are proud to announce our new international book series entitled Neighborhoods, Communities and Urban Marginality to be published by Palgrave/Macmillan in Oxford, United Kingdom.  We invite proposals on original research which examines urban marginality and social inequality in neighborhoods and communities across the globe.  We seek manuscript proposals that take into account not only structures and geographical boundaries but also the relationship and adjustment of humans to extremely dense urban environments and the evolving social, political, economic and cultural patterns that result from the sufficiency or insufficiency of material resources.

Proposals should include:  tentative title, objective and purpose of the volume, methodology used, length and intended audience, and relevance and significance of the proposed work to the scope of the series.  A chapter by chapter outline of the volume detailing the contents of the proposed book is also required.  Proposals should not exceed five to seven (5-7) typewritten pages. We are particularly interested in proposals that focus on urban marginalized communities outside the U.S. context.

Please place Palgrave Macmillan Book Proposal in the subject line of your email transmission. Proposals should be sent electronically to both series editors:
