Environmental Justice in the Midwest: Knight Distinguished Lecture with Kim Wasserman

Kim Wasserman, winner of the 213 Goldman Environmental Prize and executive director of the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization, will deliver this Knight Distinguished Lecture.

Kim Wasserman earned the 2013 Goldman Environmental Prize for her work to shut down one of the nation's oldest and dirtiest coal plants. Her organization, Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO), continues this legacy with transit reforms, greenspace creation, and open streets initiatives. Their work is a shining example of the power of community activism to achieve enviornmental justice for communities marginalized by existing power structures.

Refreshments will be available at 6:30 p.m., and the public address will begin at 7:00 p.m.
