Antiquities Under Threat in the Middle East

Allison Thomason, professor in the Department of Historical Studies, SIU-Edwardsville. Thomason's research and public scholarship examine the texts, images and material culture of the ancient Near East, with special focus on the Mesopotamia. She is particularly interested in the social  and cultural history of the region prior to the advent of Classical civilizations.  She has excavated in both Greece and MIddle East and held a fellowship a the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Classical Club of St. Louis.
